We recently listened to a very hopeful message from Dr. Jeffrey Bland about our genes’ ability to create the best in everyone and to help us fight back against darkness. We are all going through complex and challenging times. Some believe the stresses have brought out the worst in people in the form of self-centeredness and bad behavior. Dr. Bland does not share these views. He believes that lessons from the biology of human species teach otherwise. Inherent in our genome are genes that encode for empathy and goodness way beyond our own needs. These genes give us the ability to cooperate, communicate, empathize and create the very best in the human species. Our genome has has helped us to survive as a species and Dr. Bland assures us that we have it in us to fight back against these dark times. Listen to his short message on the Biology of Kindness.
